Circa 1852, Built by Colonel James H. Taylor. This amazing house has so many original fixtures and details remaining. The Taylor family owned the house for 115 years until they sold it in 1967. The current family purchased in 1994 and it was The Charleston Symphony Designer House in 1995. The front porch with Moorish arches framed in lattice earned it the name of a ''villa in the Persian style''. There are 10 fireplaces, etched glass windows, heart pine floors and two original bronze gas chandeliers that have been wired for electricity. A large unrestored dependency is located just past the house. There is a walled secret garden at the rear of the property. HVAC--part of house has radiator heat, part has central heat and air.
