Alton G. Brown III

Alton has been a Broker/Sales Associate with Carriage Properties, LLC since 2005 and has successfully navigated the complex Charleston real estate market earning the industry designation Realtor of Distinction on multiple occasions. Prior to selling real estate, Alton practiced law and is valued by clients and colleagues for his experience and insight. In 2024, Alton was promoted to Partner and Broker in Charge.

Local knowledge is important in the process of buying and selling property in this coastal area given the history of how Charleston developed across a diverse landscape of rivers, beaches, and creeks over the last 350 years. Charleston has grown substantially and continues to be recognized as the world’s top city. Alton is familiar with the details of many fine downtown properties, and is quite knowledgeable about the spectacular waterfront enclaves hidden away on the surrounding sea islands and country properties. Educated downtown at the Charleston Day School, outside of Philadelphia at The Hill School, near Charlotte at Davidson College and in Columbia at USC’s School of Law, Alton brings these diverse experiences, contacts, and abilities as a connector of people to his real estate practice. After living in several other cities, Alton was ultimately drawn back home to Charleston  its quality of life, culture, beauty, and outdoor opportunities.
