SmartAsset, a financial advice website, has recently posted an article ranking this year’s most undervalued cities in America.
The list is targeted at home-buyers of all experience levels in an effort to educated them on mortgages, the true value of a home, and the details of multiple cities across the United States.
Listed at number 6 on the “Most Undervalued Cities” list, SmartAsset considers Charleston to be more accurately valued in 2018 compared to 2017. Thanks to the influx of incredible dining options and a vast history, Charleston has grown increasingly popular worldwide. The city is said to have ranked 39th for concentration of dining/entertainment establishments, such as the well-known Husk or the Gaillard performing arts center.
In addition to the wonderful amenities the historic city has to offer its visitors, Charleston also ranks in the top 50 for lowest violent crime rates, making the Holy City safe and beautiful.
While interest in our beautiful city continues to peak, it may come as a bit of a surprise to learn that Charleston is still considered undervalued.
For the full list of 2018’s Most Undervalued Cities, visit SmartAsset’s website.
Sharon Kucharski, a Midwesterner and graduate of the University of Arizona, has worked in Charleston’s real estate business for fifteen years. She has been awarded with The Realtor of Distinction multiple times over the years for her top sales, and she served two years as President for the Realtors® Housing Opportunity Fund.
When asked about her greatest accomplishment, Sharon says that it has to be raising three wonderful children while selling real estate. Her eldest son is a boat captain, guiding boats internationally at only age 27; her middle child, a daughter, is a 26-year-old fashion designer and clothing line owner in Los Angeles; her youngest daughter is a 23-year-old yoga/meditation/Reiki instructor. Thus far, the Kucharski’s have been wildly successful and are a true inspiration to those of all interests!
Sharon’s advice to young professionals interested in real estate is this: “Educate yourself, stay current, [be advised under] another Realtor® for at least two years in order to absorb knowledge, know facts and figures, and find your niche market.” The latter is quite important because of the differences between commercial real estate and luxury real estate, just as there are differences in luxury real estate and low-end real estate.
Currently-on-market listing of hers is 2029 Wappoo Hall Road (above), a property which Sharon says has been one of her favorites. Equipped with luscious green yards, a personal pool, two gorgeous fireplaces, and tons of storage space, it should come as no surprise that this property has certainly left an impression. For more information about the property, visit our site here.
If she were not in real estate, Sharon states that she would either be selling some type of product, or taking care of people of all ages. It would surely seem that Sharon leans towards people-oriented careers and making people happy.
Those of us at Carriage Properties are extremely proud of Sharon’s accomplishments thus far, and we cannot wait to see where she goes and what she achieves in the future!

The home features a large screened-in porch and luscious yard, perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing on a sunny day.
Both of the bathrooms have been entirely remodeled with new tile and fixtures in a crisp white.
The open den (above) and kitchen (below) take up the space across the back of the house. The den includes a gorgeous wood-burning fireplace.
The kitchen has also been completely remodeled with new cabinets, stainless steel appliances (including a gas stove), a sizable island, and pantry space.
