South Carolina Aquarium Shark Week Movie on the Lawn
Fall in love with your favorite classic shark movie all over again during Shark Week at the Aquarium’s Movie on the Lawn! Free to the public, see Jaws on the big screen with the sound of the ocean just beyond your seat. Lawn opens at 7:00pm with the movie beginning at dark. Before the movie starts, interact with roving educators and watch an Aquarium-made ‘short’ on shark myths. Please bring your own chair or blanket. Snacks, sodas and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. No coolers or pets allowed. Donations will be taken at the door to benefit the conservation efforts at the Aquarium.

Giant water inflatables fill Memorial Waterfront Park for the Town of Mount Pleasant Splash Day. Local camps, residents and visitors are treated to a host of inflatable attractions including a 27-foot Tropical Plunge and a special area for small children. Children must remain supervised by parents, guardians or camp counselors at all times. Free admission and parking, with food and beverages available for purchase.

Big Kahuna Fishing Tournament at Folly Beach Fishing Pier
Not just your typical wooden pier, the landmark that is the Folly Beach Fishing Pier stretches out 1045 feet into the sparkling Atlantic Ocean where the fish are waiting: Common catches off the Folly pier include blue fish, sheepshead, spotted sea trout and whiting.

The Big Kahuna, one of the fishing highlights of the year, awards prizes for the largest game fish catch in each of the following categories: Adult Angler, Lady Angler, Youth Angler (12 and under), Senior Angler (60+), and Total Weight of Five Fish. Registration fees for pier tournaments are $12 for ages 13 and up (discount available for Charleston County residents), $9 for ages 3-12, and $14 for King Mackerel.
