As a locally owned and operated real estate firm here in Charleston, we like to think of ourselves as a family, which is why we’re excited to announce the addition of two new agents to our team.

Henry Laurens, a native Charlestonian, has been working in local real estate since 2010 and is a graduate of the Porter-Gaud School and the University of South Carolina. Henry’s knowledge of the Charleston peninsula, in addition to the James Island and West Ashley markets, make him an invaluable guide for young or first time homebuyers in the area and from afar. His decision to make real estate his career was driven in part by his deep love of his hometown and the joy he receives from working closely with his clients. Real estate is also in Henry’s genes. His mother, Melinda Laurens, is a forty year industry veteran here in Charleston, and his grandfather was a lifelong agent and an investor as well. “I’ve been around it my whole life,” he said. Henry is actively involved in the Charleston community and is a member of the St. Cecilia Society, the Gibbes Museum of Art, the Charleston Library Society, Charleston Young Professionals, the Porter Gaud Alumni Association, and sits on the Advancement Committee of The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Butler Derrick was born in Edgefield, South Carolina, but spent his formative years in Washington, D.C. He grew up vacationing on the Isle of Palms and made Charleston his permanent home in 2002. Starting first as a private investor, Butler quickly discovered real estate was his calling and since 2008 has represented clients in everything from historic downtown purchases to large land acquisitions. An avid outdoors man and sailor, Butler has served as the ringmaster of the Charleston Dog Show for the past five years and is a member of the Charleston Library Society, the Carolina Yacht Club, and the Middleton Hunting Club. He lives on James Island with his wife and two daughters.
