When to put up Christmas decorations? Is the weekend after Thanksgiving too early? Dec 15th too late? If you’re a resident of downtown Charleston, the city’s annual holiday parade is your cue.
Thrown by the City of Charleston and the Charleston Fire Department, this year’s parade was held on Sunday, Dec 6th. The parade starts at Colonial Lake on Broad Street and ends at Marion Square Park, with decorated fire trucks, floats that feature countless versions of Santa Claus’, and vintage cars paving the way through town. Kids and adults are equal participants, and it’s a great reminder of the charm of our small city, and the wonderful community of people who live here.
We took a tour through town just before the parade began and were happy to see that Charlestonians had officially begun decking their halls. We’ve included some glimpses of some of our favorite doorfronts, below.
